Fotona NightLase® is an effective laser treatment for snoring that helps improve sleep quality. It reduces the impact of sleep apnea and the intensity of snoring through a gentle tightening effect in the oral mucosa. This is achieved by the contraction of collagen fibers in the soft tissues of the throat.
What does the Fotona NightLase® procedure involve?
- Before the treatment, patients fill out a questionnaire to determine the type of snoring.
- During the procedure, the tongue is gently held down with a spatula to allow better access. People with a strong gag reflex may feel slight discomfort, but the treatment itself is painless and very quick – approximately 10 minutes.
- After the procedure, patients can immediately return to their normal daily activities.
Benefits of Fotona NightLase® Snoring Treatment:

What causes snoring and how can it be treated?
Snoring is caused by airflow-induced vibration of tissues in the nose and throat due to a narrowed airway.
The Fotona NightLase® treatment works by widening the airway and reducing tissue vibration.
A gentle laser warms the tissues at the back of the throat, allowing air to flow more freely. The laser causes the collagen in the mucosal tissue to contract, which tightens the area.
As a result, the airway opens up and the vibrations of the soft tissue are reduced, which significantly decreases snoring and the effects of sleep apnea.
How many NightLase® sessions are needed?
A course of 2 to 4 sessions over several weeks is recommended. Results typically last at least one year or longer. If symptoms return, the treatment can be repeated safely.
There is no recovery time, and patients experience improved breathing and better sleep quality, benefiting both themselves and their sleeping partners.
