How is carboxytherapy performed at Dr. Mari Laasma’s Aesthetic Clinic?
We use the CARBO2 HPT device.
During the procedure, carbon dioxide is administered and acts for 4–5 minutes. It is then absorbed and eliminated naturally through the kidneys and lungs.
A mild swelling and redness may appear at the injection site in the external genital area, but these subside on their own.
The procedure temporarily reduces oxygen levels in the tissue. In response to this artificial oxygen deficiency, the body sends oxygen-rich blood to the treated area, blood vessels dilate, and capillary permeability improves. This enhanced blood flow activates cells and stimulates collagen production and tissue regeneration.
How many sessions are needed?
We recommend 6 to 10 sessions, spaced one week apart. The treatment course can be repeated after 6–8 months.
What are the contraindications for carboxytherapy?
- Active inflammation at the injection site
- Pregnancy and breastfeeding
- Fever
- Cardiovascular diseases
What to avoid after the procedure:
- Do not wash the injection site for 6 hours.
- Avoid swimming and sauna for 24 hours.
- Until swelling and redness subside, do not apply heat or cold to the treated area.
